Hello, Dr. Sangchul Hwang. I’m Dr. Sangchul Hwang who studies and treats autonomic nerves.
Do I really need a body image test? One of the common phrases I hear in the clinic is, “My posture is off, but I don’t know exactly what the problem is,” “When I stand for a long time, the soles of my feet get stiff and pull all the way down to my lower back,” or “Imaging doesn’t show any abnormality but the pain persists.”
In this context, accurate somatotype diagnosis should prioritize body alignment, weight distribution, joint motion, and arch structure over simple imaging tests. We used X-Body somatotyping, ROM range of motion testing, MOIRE muscle asymmetry analysis, and ARCH arch testing to systematically assess structural causes of pain.

Why is body shape testing and body analysis important?
Minor deformities in body shape can lead to physical pain, fatigue and chronic misalignment. In clinical practice, they are often associated with the following problems
Herniated discs and chronic back pain
Turtle neck, straight neck and cervical imbalance
Pelvic tilt and hip pain
Leg length discrepancy and weight imbalance between sides
Plantar pain and plantar fasciitis
O-legs, X-legs and knee pain
Lower extremity edema and circulation problems
Because these changes usually occur slowly and are invisible to the naked eye, accurate body image analysis can help with early diagnosis.

XBody Body Analysis
XBody is a full body analyzer that quantifies shape and alignment by simply standing. The examiner simply stands comfortably in the correct position and the system automatically calculates alignment.
You can quantify the following items
Difference in height between left and right shoulder and pelvis
Degree of spinal curvature and torsion
Left-right center of gravity distribution
Leg alignment and weight bearing patterns
Leg length imbalance
It’s great to be able to look at numbers and data to see how you’re performing, rather than how you feel physically.

ROM Range of Motion Test
The ROM test is an accurate measurement of the range of motion of the major joints of the neck, shoulders, hips and knees.
Less movement in certain directions or
Movement outside the normal range.
Abnormalities can be detected before they produce pain. These results are important in guiding subsequent corrective exercise and chiropractic care.

MOIRE Muscle Asymmetry Visualization Test
The MOIRE test analyzes changes in muscle tensing patterns on a body chart, visualizing muscle asymmetry and spinal curvature on both sides.
Direction of muscle tension
Areas of loading
How deformations develop
These factors can be documented in images, making it easier for patients to understand changes in their body shape.
ARCH Arch Examination
Body image begins in the feet. When the arch collapses, it affects the knee, pelvis and spine in that order. The arch test analyzes plantar load distribution, arch height and lateral balance at rest.
Do you have flat feet or high arches
Where the load is concentrated
Left and right foot support patterns
Plantar Fasciitis
In addition to plantar pain, knee and hip pain are also common causes.

Customized arch corrective insoles
Based on the results of your arch examination, we will customize functional orthotic insoles for you. They are not only cushioning insoles, but also functional aids for weight distribution and arch stabilization.
Reduces plantar pain
Inhibits arch collapse
Reduces knee and pelvic stress
Helps with contouring
This is especially useful if you work long hours on your feet or walk a lot.
Suggested objectives include
If you have symptoms of plantar fasciitis
Pain in the soles of your feet or knees after standing for long periods of time
Wear and tear on one side of your shoes
Numbness and swelling in the leg
Orthopedic surgeons recommend shoe inserts

After testing, treatment is associated with
Testing is the starting point for treatment. Based on the test results, we will use a combination of the following treatments
Body-Centered Choreography
ROM corrective exercise program
Balance management to improve muscle asymmetry
Prescription of functional orthotics for arch stabilization
Acupuncture, medication and hydrotherapy as needed
When the posture collapses and the arch collapses, the knees, pelvis, spine and shoulders on top of it wobble in that order. Understanding the structure and finding the cause is the key to treatment.

Read your body type in numbers and explain why in terms of structure
X-Body, ROM, MOIRE and ARCH tests provide a visual digital interpretation of body form, foot structure, joint mobility and muscle patterns. When you know exactly what is causing the pain, the direction of treatment becomes clearer.
If you are experiencing any uncomfortable symptoms, we recommend that you go to the hospital for a checkup. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave them in the comments. We will try our best to answer them for you.
