Hyperhidrosis Testimonial | Generalized Hyperhidrosis Treatment Testimonials | Hello. I’m Dr. Sangchul Hwang, a researcher and practitioner of autonomic nervous system. Today, I would like to introduce a treatment interview with a patient who has been suffering from generalized hyperhidrosis, a condition that causes widespread sweating all over the body. Unlike localized hyperhidrosis, such as hands and feet, generalized hyperhidrosis is a much more complex and difficult condition to treat because it causes increased sweating all over the body, including the face, scalp, trunk, and limbs.
Systemic hyperhidrosis is not just a sweat gland problem, but is often caused by a combination of factors including autonomic dysregulation, thermoregulatory imbalance, stress response, and sleep problems. Therefore, it is difficult to make a sufficient change by correcting only one factor, and requires a combination of overall autonomic stability and internal environmental regulation. This is why the duration of treatment is also relatively long.
Recently, we’ve seen a number of patients in treatment get infected with the virus, and we’ve also seen some patients’ progress falter because their autonomic imbalance worsened or their sweating patterns became unstable again after the virus. This patient had some ups and downs during her treatment, but she stayed on track.
This patient had been suffering from generalized hyperhidrosis since high school, and sweating easily not only in hot weather, but also in stressful situations and indoors. She said that the sweating was so intense that her clothes became wet, and she felt embarrassed in her interpersonal and social life. She had been suffering from this condition for a long time, so she started treatment with some skepticism.
You can read about specific experiences and treatments in our separate reviews.
Systemic hyperhidrosis often goes through a gradual stabilization process rather than dramatic changes in a short period of time. The longer it’s been going on, the more important it is to have direction and persistence rather than impatience. We hope this provides some hope for those struggling with long-standing generalized hyperhidrosis.
