Recurrent Cystitis: A 1-Minute Self-Checklist

“I took medication for a urinary tract infection, but I still feel the need to urinate frequently.”

“The urine test showed no bacteria, but my bladder still hurts.”

If you experience recurrent cystitis, it can be difficult to tell whether it’s simply a recurrence or if there’s another underlying cause.

Generally, cystitis is considered recurrent if it occurs at least twice within a 6-month period or at least three times within a year. However, for an accurate diagnosis, it is necessary to review not only the symptoms but also the urine test results and medical records.

In particular, if you experience recurrent frequent urination, urethral pain, or bladder discomfort even though no bacteria have been detected, it is important to consider other possible causes, such as bladder pain syndrome or pelvic floor muscle issues.

Use the 1-minute self-checklist below to assess your current symptoms and recurrence patterns.
